University medicine’s students are encouraged to go for Internship Abroad to gain experience and practice the theories they had learned in school.
Georgetown medicine students are sent to countries in Asia and Africa to practice what they had learned in school. Yet, they were confronted by the harsh realities in these countries; they treat patients who looked at them with hope and love.
Medicine Interns were surprised on how the people they visited accepted their fate with such enthusiasm. Medicine Interns from Georgetown University was referred to as Georgetown’s ambassadors for health by Dr. Irma Frank. These students chose to go for Internship Abroad in countries like rural Australia, Dominican Republic, India, Uganda and other parts of the world.
Intern Medicine students pack up their bags with an idea of helping other people through proper health care. What surprises them is that they receive more that they gave. They come back as mature and open minded would-be doctors. The harsh realities of the health care situations in the underdeveloped countries opened their eyes to the other side of a coin- that is poor health care situations that results from poverty.
Students who visited places with barely the rudiments of proper health care came back with their ideas on how to uplift health care in some parts of the world. They became advocates for change. They became not just fulfilled interns but interns with dreams of going back and helping more.
A medicine student who went to one underdeveloped country had concluded that besides the stark evidence of poverty in places that they had visited- the people and culture of these countries made their visit more meaningful and enriching. They learned that sometimes there are situations that they were interns no more but doctors.
Beside Africa, another splendid place to go for Internship Abroad is the Philippines. Chosen well, Philippine countryside setting indeed will inspire not only the doctors in you but the photographers in you. Uganda, Africa also offers great places to go safari if these intern medicine students of ours will take a break from a days work and widen their horizons and take a notice of the beautiful surroundings around them.

International internships are one of the most exciting events students could ever imagine. Depending on the student’s expertise of work or the experience that they wanted to experience, they can choose on the different types of internship abroad. Below are some lists of the most common type of International Internship Programs that students should chose for their internship abroad.
-
Internship Programs and Exchanges—this type of international internship program is just like a study abroad program. However, it is not like the common universities where you really need to isolate in one room to discuss your lessons, but here most of the time your experience would be outside the classroom. This type of program on the other hand is manipulated by a specific organization of which there is an involvement of the local.
-
Direct internships with the international organizations—appointed as the most complicated type of internship programs since they are not known as part of a formal program. But with regards to economical issue, this is the most choice of the interns despite the reality that they are not being paid here.

International career is built through the years and not in an instant snap of the finger. A child who is guided on what he wants is indeed a very lucky child but a child who knows what he wants is also a very lucky child.
For these children who have visions of themselves will make decisions based on their goal. They would take international summer vacation jobs as early as they can possibly do. Or take a leap on gap year in international locations. Or volunteer during summer abroad. See, on how they would take every opportunity to deal with another race, place, culture and people.
Though there are generic skills that every employer would really appreciate on their employees like cognitive skills and social skills. Personal traits also would count because these would determine the kind of attitude every employee would bring in the work place.
The most often misconception of students is that they can only build their international career when ever they land on foreign land. This is a big mistake though. But if you are in college right now and will be doing your internship. Better contemplating on taking the leap for an international internship though it is a bit expensive but if you handle your cards well then it may be the starts of a dream international career.
In your international internship you can test your skills in learning and social work skills in cross cultural settings. Sounds easy…? But it is not for dealing with different people with different personalities is easier said than done.
Start an international career by having internship abroad.

I dreamed of whacking my world of what I learned. I expect to make sales strategy programs for the top Sales Company in our country. Or soften and changed the most harden and juvenile student in the university. But I was surprised.
Most Interns abroad had lots of expectations or none at all, whatsoever. Or some expect something way off the mark.
Ask Intern students of her experience and I bet she will tell how awful the internship was. And awful means doing menial work instead of the things that an Intern expect. Menial work such as making coffee, encoding, mailing letters, running errands, etc!
Directors and mentors of big companies noted that Intern should have the right perspective. For learning is not based on how many new technical things you learned. But internship is also about personal growth and social networking and practicing the ability to establish relationship among co-workers.
There are also interns that are surprised by the kind of job that companies give them. And they are really pushed to do their best on their daily intern task. These are for Interns in smaller companies wherein the superiors have the time to instruct and guide their Interns.
In some instances like an organization in Malaysia (WWF), they trained their Interns as if they are employees and give them responsibilities like a regular employee.
