Choosing the international internship for you is not that easy especially if there are numerous programs to choose from, you have to look at them carefully before signing up for one. Although after you have signed up for your internship abroad, there are also things that you have to consider before going abroad such as attending seminars about the culture shock, the internship package, insurances, medical check ups and so on.
Here are some things that you should know before going on your internship. Let your organization give you information about the currency exchange, emergency numbers, and contacts on the embassy and so on in your placement. Your organization may also orient you or let you attend seminars about ‘culture shock’ and so on before going to your placement abroad. Culture shock is one of the factors that are tackled before going out to your international internship. Your organization will have seminars about this and other issues; so that you will already know about it and that you will know what to do when you are there.
Insurance is also one of the things that you should consider; you have to know that its insurance packages provide full support on health and medical in which includes emergency evacuation. The fees that you have paid for in your program, it often includes the health and medical insurance in your placement.
And lastly, you have to have medical checkups before leaving; there are countries which may need immunizations that are required by their laws. Check your host country if there are suggested vaccinations in their country. If ever there are vaccinations, you have to carry the documents with you together with your passport.
