International career is built through the years and not in an instant snap of the finger. A child who is guided on what he wants is indeed a very lucky child but a child who knows what he wants is also a very lucky child.
For these children who have visions of themselves will make decisions based on their goal. They would take international summer vacation jobs as early as they can possibly do. Or take a leap on gap year in international locations. Or volunteer during summer abroad. See, on how they would take every opportunity to deal with another race, place, culture and people.
Though there are generic skills that every employer would really appreciate on their employees like cognitive skills and social skills. Personal traits also would count because these would determine the kind of attitude every employee would bring in the work place.
The most often misconception of students is that they can only build their international career when ever they land on foreign land. This is a big mistake though. But if you are in college right now and will be doing your internship. Better contemplating on taking the leap for an international internship though it is a bit expensive but if you handle your cards well then it may be the starts of a dream international career.
In your international internship you can test your skills in learning and social work skills in cross cultural settings. Sounds easy…? But it is not for dealing with different people with different personalities is easier said than done.
